Alex Job Racing Returns to ALMS Competition for 2010 Season

Two Cars in new ALMS GTC at Sebring with strong driver lineup
Alex Job Racing (AJR) is coming back to the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) to compete in the full 2010 nine race GTC championship.  The team will field two 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars with a strong driver lineup.

Prior to running in other forms of sports car racing, AJR held the distinction of running every ALMS race, except the Australian event in 2000.  “We are looking forward to returning to the ALMS series and running the full schedule,” Alex Job, team owner said.  “In the time that we were in the series we were very successful with the Porsche factory, as well as on our own.”

NEW AMR MAN FERNANDEZ: I STILL HAVE A LOT TO OFFER

Mexican star confirms Winter Test appearance for Lola-Aston Martin prototype
All along, Adrian Fernandez said he felt like he still had a lot to offer in sports car racing. The Mexican star has his chance to prove he’s right after Aston Martin Racing announced him as an official factory driver for its LMP1 program in 2010.

The deal actually goes beyond that – it’s a three-year deal, Fernandez says. The 2009 American Le Mans Series LMP2 co-champion will drive a Gulf-liveried, Aston Martin-powered Lola prototype in at least three events this season: Sebring and Long Beach (both in the American Le Mans Series) and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

BLACK SWAN RACING CONFIRMS PORSCHE ENTRY FOR 2010 GT

Tim Pappas’ Black Swan Racing announced officially today that it is returning to the American Le Mans Series in 2010 with a full-season effort. The Harvard, Mass.-based squad will enter a Porsche 911 GT3 RSR in the GT class, perhaps the most competitive one in Series history.

Pappas-owned entries are no stranger to the American Le Mans Series. The first, coincidentally, was a Porsche in GT2 that competed under the banner of Team Trans Sport in 2007. The car’s best finish was fourth in class at Petit Le Mans with Pappas, Terry Borcheller and Marc Basseng driving. Black Swan hit the track in 2008 with a Falken-shod Doran-Ford GT that competed in the second half of the season.

RISI COMPETIZIONE UNITE TOP FERRARI TALENT FOR 2010 SEASON ASSAULT

Endurance racing champions, Risi Competizione, will boast a Championship-winning GT driver line up for its assault on the forthcoming 2010 American Le Mans Series season, it is announced today.

In reuniting 2007 ALMS Champion, Jaime Melo, with 2008 FIA GT Champion, Gianmaria Bruni, the Houston-based Ferrari team will front one of the strongest pairings in GT racing today.

The Brazilian/Italian partnership, who drove together to victory for Risi in the 2008 24 Hours of Le Mans, have formed the backbone of the development program for the Ferrari F430 GT. Their return to the ALMS with that huge, combined amount of experience will be vital for success in an increasingly competitive and high-profile GT class.
